Storm Damage & Emergency Roofing

Wind and hail do not wait for business hours, and neither does the water that follows them in. Here is what to do first.

If water is coming in right now, the priority is stopping it — not deciding what the permanent fix looks like. Tarping first, decisions later.

What to do in the first hour

  1. Stay off the roof. A wet, hail-scattered roof is genuinely dangerous, and more people are hurt after storms than during them.
  2. Contain the water inside. Buckets under the drip, and move anything that matters. If a ceiling is bulging and holding water, that is a real collapse risk — do not stand under it.
  3. Photograph everything, dated. Inside and out, from the ground. Do it before anyone touches anything. This is the evidence your claim rests on and it costs you nothing.
  4. Call us for tarping. A tarp is temporary protection, not a repair — but it is what stops a bad night turning into decking replacement and an insulation bill.

What tarping actually does

A properly installed emergency tarp is wrapped over the ridge and battened down, not thrown across a hole and weighted with bricks. Done right it buys you weeks. Done badly it channels water somewhere new and punches fresh holes in the deck with the fasteners.

It is worth being clear about what it does not do: it does not repair the roof, it will not last the season, and it does not stop the clock on your policy’s reporting requirements.

Then we look properly

Once the property is protected, we do a full inspection and document what the storm actually did. Hail bruises soft metal — gutters, downspouts, vent caps — before it shows on shingles, so the gutters usually tell us whether hail genuinely hit before the shingles do.

About the contractors who show up after a storm

Hail brings out-of-state crews to Ottawa County within days. If someone offers to cover your deductible, guarantee a claim approval, or handle the whole thing for you — that offer is unlawful in Oklahoma, and the fact they made it tells you what you need to know. You can check any roofer’s Oklahoma registration in about thirty seconds at verifyroofing.cib.ok.gov.

We are roofing contractors, not public adjusters or insurance attorneys. Coverage decisions are made by your insurer under your policy.

Storm & Insurance

Storm Damage Documentation and Insurance Claim Assistance

Insurance is where most roofing jobs get stressful. Our part is making sure the damage is documented properly and explained plainly — so you can make a decision with the facts in front of you.

  1. Property safety and temporary protection

If water is getting in, that comes first. Emergency tarping buys time so the damage stops spreading while everything else gets sorted out.

  2. Full roof and exterior inspection

We check the roof, the flashing details, the vents, the gutters and the soft metals. Hail bruises soft metal before it shows on shingles, so the gutters often tell the story first.

  3. Photo documentation and written findings

You get a detailed photo report of what we found and a written estimate for the work we would perform. That is the record your claim rests on.

  4. Adjuster coordination when you ask

If you would like us there when your adjuster visits, we will be there to walk the roof and point to what we documented.

  5. Approved scope, work, and cleanup

Once you and your insurer settle the scope, we schedule the work, protect the property, and finish with a walkthrough.

We are roofing contractors, not public adjusters or insurance attorneys. Coverage decisions are made by your insurer under your policy.
